Literary Dinner - “Between the Chalk and the Sea”

Wednesday 11th September

This September we welcome Gail Simmons, travel writer and columnist, and author of “Between the Chalk and the Sea” – her fabulous story of travels along the Old Way – a route that shares many similarities with the Ridgeway.

Author, academic and broadcaster Gail Simmons is a ‘walking writer’. As well as “Between the Chalk and the Sea” she is the author of “The Country of Larks”, shortlisted for the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards 2020.

She has contributed features to the Times, Telegraph, Independent, Wanderlust and TIME magazine and has appeared on the BBC’s ‘From Our Own Correspondent’ and ‘Woman’s Hour’. Gail has an MA in Medieval History and a PhD in Creative Writing, and teaches at Bath Spa University on their MA in Nature and Travel Writing.

You’ll enjoy a delicious dinner inspired by her travels before digging into this fascinating journey and beyond. Luke has created a sensational menu – you won’t want to miss it!

Your ticket includes a signed paperback copy of the book.
